The Rainy Day Foundation, administrator of the HELP program, has assisted thousands of individuals through the years to get back on their feet when they experienced an unexpected financial difficulty. In good economic times and in bad, life events occur and often without warning. When these events happen, the Rainy Day Foundation has been there to assist.

Today more than ever, the mortgage lending and building industries have experienced a severe loss in consumer trust as economic challenges have plagued an unprecedented number of homeowners in this country. Consumer confidence is at a low and economists project that delinquencies and foreclosures will continue to remain high for the next several years due to a variety of negative financial factors intersecting simultaneously.

At the Rainy Day Foundation, our mission is to create and maintain responsible homeownership with an emphasis on protecting homeowners from the unexpected. We always have and always will. In working with lenders and builders through the years to reach homeowners, the Rainy Day Foundation knows the challenges that potential homebuyers and homeowners are experiencing. Not only are Americans experiencing financial uncertainty, but so are lenders, builders and real estate companies.

So in 2008, the Rainy Day Foundation launched a program that squarely meets the needs of the housing, lending and real estate sectors of our economy by providing financial and educational strength to homebuyers throughout this country. This program is called the "HELP" program which stands for Homeowner Education and Loan Protection. The program provides three main components to; keep homeowners from becoming delinquent, make homeowners current if they are delinquent and to create long-term financial stability.

To date, the HELP program has counseled, educated and financially assisted over 15 thousand homeowners and is projected to provide over 8 million in Rainy Day Program funds during 2009. As we move through our current financial environment, the Rainy Day Foundation is committed to our industry partners and our respective homeowners to continue on fulfilling our mission and provide value of service.
